From President Bush to Perez Hilton, Come See My Photos!

This past Saturday was a very busy, but very exciting day.  It started out at my home in Bedford with an Easter egg hunt for about 30 children, accompanied by their parents.  I realize that Easter has come and gone, but this delayed hunt was being photographed for my new Entertaining book.  The spring gardens were lovely, as were the decorations, and fortunately, the weather cooperated for the children to have a really fun time.

Later in the day, my friend, Charles Simonyi, flew us in his jet to Washington DC, to attend the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) dinner held at the Washington Hilton Hotel.  The WHCA was founded in 1914 by journalists who were concerned about protecting the interests of reporters and correspondents assigned to cover the White House.  Its annual dinner is quite a gala, raising money for WHCA scholarships and to honor the professional recipients of the WHCA’S Journalism Awards.  It was wonderful seeing old friends and meeting so many other fascinating people.  I hope you enjoy my snapshots.

I was so happy to meet up with Bill Yosses, a friend who is now the Executive Pastry Chef at the White House. He told me all about recently making the Pope’s cake. He is now busy planning Jenna Bush’s wedding cake. To his left, is a friend of Bill’s

I wore this lovely brown chiffon dress with topaz beads and earrings.

This is Perez Hilton, celebrity blogger, who stopped to chat up the Jonas brothers, the American pop-rock band.

There was too much buzz to hear what they were talking about, but everyone was very, very intent! Img_0813

The very cute and, I must also say polite and well-behaved, Jonas Brothers, have a very large and cute bodyguard.

Here I am with my hostess for the evening, Executive Editor of People Magazine, Betsy Gleick.

At the party, I bumped into Larry King – that’s Charles Simonyi with me.

I loved meeting Donatella Versace – her dress was quite form-fitting and beautiful. \

It was a pleasure seeing Henry Kissinger, who is always jovial and friendly.

My old friend, Patricia Duff – ex-wife of Ron Perlman – looked very glamorous.

Here I am with Mr. Donald Graham, son of Katherine Graham, former head of The Washington Post newspaper.  Donald is now CEO and Chairman of the Board of The Washington Post Co.

Aaron Eckhart played a handsome chef in his last movie, ‘No Reservations’ – co-starring with Catherine Zeta-Jones

DC Games update…plus, Camp Rock!
Posted on May 1st, 2008 at 10:23 am by Blog Girl

You guys, it’s so hot here at Disney’s Wide World of Sports – and I’m not talking about the weather! All the stars are competing at the Disney Channel Games, and fans are filling up the stadium to catch a glimpse, maybe even get an autograph from the Jonas Brothers, Cody Linley, Selena Gomez, Mitchel Musso, the Cheetah Girls, and the cast of Camp Rock. The screaming is so loud and exciting, I get goose bumps everytime I see one of the JoBros walk by and wave to their fans. Even little Frankie Jonas got everyone yelling his name! He’s so cute as he walked over to them and signed autographs just like his rock star brothers.

I want to give a shout-out to Mr. Jonas himself for chatting quickly with me and commenting on the fans. “They’re the best fans ever,” he told me. Aww, so true! Anyway, don’t get too jealous, but I’ve been invited to a super secret screening of CAMP ROCK tonight! Yes, I’m thanking my lucky stars right now! I’m not going to ruin anything for you guys – you’re gonna have to wait for the premiere, but I’ll be sure to get tidbits just for you. I heard the JoBros are even going to watch the screening, too. OMJ!!!

Jonas Brothers surprise parade
Posted on April 30th, 2008 at 12:40 pm by Blog Girl

OMG, so I’m here in Orlando, Florida catching all the action of the DISNEY CHANNEL GAMES, and was invited to be a VIP at a surprise parade starring the JONAS BROTHERS, DEMI LOVATO, CHEETAH GIRLS, and SELENA GOMEZ this morning!
The stars were so close they totally picked me out of the crowd with my video camera. Nick was super sweet as he started off the parade, followed by Joe waving to the fans, and Kevin smiling the whole way down the main route. Fans screamed when they saw Camp Rock star Demi Lovato close behind them, and then they showed their love for Kiely Williams, Sabrina Bryan, and Adrienne Bailon. Ending the cool parade was Selena, who totally pointed to my video camera as she passed by.
Watch the videos, which I’ve also posted on our YouTube site – http://www.youtube.com/boptv
Part One – starring Nick, Joe and Kevin!

Part Two – with Demi, Cheetahs and Selena:
