Miley vs. The Jonai: It’s A Showdown!

Looks like the Jonas Brothers are getting a lot more help from Disney than the controversial and racially insensitive Miley Cyrus did.

If you recall, Slutty Cyrus had her Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert film playing on less than 700 3-D screens across the US last year. The concert flick made Disney $31 million during its first weekend.

But, now, it’s the JoBros’ turn – and Disney plans to put Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience in several hundred more giant 3-D screens for its release this February 27th, giving it exposure in over 1,100 3-D screens, including in 55 Imax venues.

At the moment, the flick is being promoted as a “one week only” engagement. If it’s successful enough, which we think it will be, Disney might add an additional week or more in some theaters – as they did with Miley.

The Jonas Brothers suit up to honor musician Neil Diamond for the 2009 MusiCares Person of the Year Tribute in Los Angeles on Friday night (February 6).

The musical trio — Nick, Joe and Kevin — performed a rendition of Neil’s hit, “Forever in Blue Jeans.”

Joe’s girlfriend, Camilla Belle, was also at the event, but not sitting at their table.

BIG NEWS – IMAX THEATERS HAVE ADDED JB in 3D Category: Music Hey everyone, Just wanted to let you know that IMAX theaters throughout the country (in the US) have added the Jonas Brothers 3D Concert Experience for 1 WEEK ONLY starting on February 27th. This will be the biggest screens you can see the movie. We are all getting so excited about the next couple weeks… Grammys, Saturday Night Live, a trip to NYC, the premiere of the 3D movie, etc. Thank you for making all of this possible JB Kevin, Joe and Nick

What Will The Jonas Brothers Wear At The Grammys?

The band’s stylist explains how each brother expresses his individual style.

The Jonas Brothers are not shy about dressing up for special occasions. They were some of the best-dressed guys at the Golden Globes in January. And for an occasion as special as this Sunday’s Grammy Awards, where they are up for Best New Artist, the band’s stylist, Michelle Tomaszewski, promises that their attire will definitely reflect each guy’s very individual style.

“It’s a big day for them, probably the biggest of their career, so we really wanna make sure that everything is spot on,” Tomaszewski told Film.com. “They’re going to be performing as well, so we have two looks for the Grammys.”

Jonas Brothers movie widens its 3-D reach

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Can the boys beat “Hannah?”

Slightly more than a year after Walt Disney Studios registered a first-weekend haul of $31 million for its “Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert” from fewer than 700 3-D screens, Disney and Imax have agreed to add dozens of giant 3-D screens to the February 27 wide release of “Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience.” That means there should be upward of 1,100 3-D venues playing the latest teens-and-tweens concert film, including 55 Imax venues.

The Imax auditoriums supplement engagements in venues operated by various other 3-D vendors. With the movie industry’s rollout of 3-D projection still a work in progress, Disney will aim to use almost every installed 3-D screen in North America.
